With each state having different coverage of the competition, it can get quite confusing at times to keep an eye on your favourite team.
Here is where The Roar comes in. This is our definitive guide as to where you catch the NRL on television, radio, and live streaming online.
Live stream online
The easiest place to catch every NRL game – except the grand final and Origin – via live stream is Kayo Sports. Kayo lets you stream Foxtel sporting content on your preferred device without the need to subscribe to any of Foxtel’s other TV packages.

Channel Nine also have some digital rights. That means that you can live stream a few number of games for free via 9Now.
During the regular season, this will be three games per week – the Thursday night game, late Friday night game, and one Sunday game.
However since Nine shows all of the finals, all of the State of Origin games, and the grand final itself, that means you will be able to stream them free on 9Now as well.
If you already have Foxtel, then Foxtel GO is the app for you. If not, sign up for Foxtel Now and pick a package including the sports channels.
International streaming
Whether you’re travelling or just living overseas, the easiest way to stream the NRL season online outside of Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands is via Watch NRL.
TV
Let’s start with the basics.
Channel Nine have the rights for three matches and Fox Sports have the rights for the remaining five in a NRL round.
Nine have the rights to both Thursday and the second Friday Night matches as well as the Sunday afternoon match.

With no more Monday Night Football, Fox Sports now have the right to simulcast those games plus carry exclusive coverage of the other five.
If you live in Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia or Western Australia, you also get the coverage but it will be covered on 9GEM.
All finals, thankfully, are shown live around the country on GEM or Channel 9. As always, check your local guides.
Radio
The easiest way to listen to the NRL is with the official app for the competition. On both the App Store, and Google Play, you can download the app and listen to the coverage.
When a match is on all you have to do is load the player and pick which station you want. It is pretty simple and great if you have a good internet connection.
For those who like wireless there are three stations which broadcast NRL. Triple M, 2GB – or 4BC in Queensland – and the ABC.
ABC have rights to all matches with Triple M and 2GB sharing the rest and sometimes providing coverage on the same match. If you live outside of NSW and Queensland the best place to listen to the coverage from either of these stations is on the official NRL app or the official website.
